Attention 8th graders interested in becoming a high school cheerleader:
Practice and tryouts for the Fall Football Cheer Squads start soon at the high school. Practice starts Tuesday, May 20th, from 3:30-4:30 pm. Be dressed and ready for activity. Tryouts will be Tuesday, May 27th, in the high school commons. If you have any questions you may contact Ms. Dusso at the high school.

Marinette Marine Conditioning Camp
There will be a Marinette Marine Conditioning Camp on Wednesday, May 28th, from 3:30-5:00 pm, at the high school fitness center for students entering grades 7-9 interested in playing football in the fall. This camp is free. Students will receive instruction in the area of strength and conditioning such as lifting techniques, spotting and safety and a summer conditioning program. Student Council
The general elections for all 5th, 6th and 7th graders that want to join the student council for next year, but NOT run for an officer, this announcement is for you. We would like you to get an application form from Mrs. Lynn Francour or Mrs. Lange today. All completed applications need to be into Mrs. Francour by this Friday, May 16. Get involved by running for student council for next year. Please see Mrs. Lynn Francour for more details, all students should have their form of interest in by Friday, May 16.
Volleyball meeting for the 08-09 season
There will be a meeting for all 7th and 8th graders who plan to play volleyball for the 2008-2009 school year. The meeting will be during the later part of your lunch in the small gym this Thursday, May 15th. Coach Hampton from the high school will also be in attendance.

Dance
The last dance of the school year is this Friday, May 2nd. DJ BIG entertainment will be here to play your favorite tunes. Come for a night of fun! Concessions will be open in the cafeteria and the gym will be ready for basketball. Fifth and 6th grade dance is from 3:00-5:00 pm and 7th and 8th grade dance is from 6:30-8:30 pm. All students on honor level 1 and 2 are eligible to attend the dance.

Umpiring clinic for youth 12 years and older
Any students 12 years and older who are interested in umpiring softball or baseball must attend an umpire clinic. The clinic is this Sunday, April 27, from 6-8 pm at Marinette High School. Any questions see Mrs. Kelly Francour, room L110.

Boating Safety Course
The DNR is hosting a boating safety course. The course will be held each Monday and Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm beginning May 12th and ending on May 29th. There will be no class on Memorial Day -- May 26th. This class will be held at the Marinette Rescue Squad building located at 623 Madison Street in Marinette and is being sponsored by Cozzy's Outdoor Equipment.
Students must be at least 10 years of age to enroll. There is no maximum age, and parents are also encouraged to enroll and participate. Advance registrations are requested. Please contact Conservation Warden Mike Kitt at the Peshtigo DNR office at 582-5024 for details. The course fee is $10.00 and covers all necessary materials.
